When censorship takes over - Patreon shuts down dissidents
With great disappointment, I have to announce that my Patreon account has been suspended, which comes at a high cost as part of our revenue came from there. We have not actively promoted our Patreon account because of its history of shutting down dissidents and actors who speak out against the prevailing narrative.
Now Patreon has carried out a new "purge," and we have been thrown out together with many others. This indicates that Patreon has used an updated list from left-wing extremist actors who devote their time to slandering and defaming actors who pose a threat to the prevailing narrative. These lists can then form the basis for Big Tech to censor without any further reference other than that it would be a "hate crime." We were also thrown out with an abstract reference that I would be associated with "hate organizations," without any further specification of what those organizations would be.
Patreon has long aligned itself with the other Big Tech companies to censor and limit the reach of social critics and their economic ability to continue producing. Freedom of speech is simply not one of Patreon's values.
Our work will continue as usual, and setbacks like these are unfortunately part of life. It was no surprise that we had to leave Patreon; the surprise was rather that we were allowed to stay as long as we did.
And no mainstream media can go against Big Tech or Big Media since they have the same ownership structure under the global financial elite.
Substack feels like a safer alternative to Patreon. The founders and owners of Substack have strong freedom ideals, and one of the reasons they founded the platform was because of their commitment to fighting censorship from Big Tech. Therefore, I urge you all to join my Substack page and continue to support my work. Together, we can stand up to censorship and fight for freedom of speech and creativity.
Next week we have a really exciting report coming up. I will be visiting the town of Orania in South Africa, a town that has been at the center of much controversy and debate in recent years. Orania is a town founded in the 1990s by Afrikaners who wanted to create a society for themselves, independent of South African society. The town has since become a symbol of ethnic separatism, and its inhabitants have been accused of racism and discrimination.
But what is really happening in Orania? What is life like for its inhabitants? And what can we learn from their experiences? These are questions that we will try to answer in this report.
We will talk to residents of Orania and hear their perspectives on why they chose to move to the town and what it is like to live there. We will also examine the town's political and social system and find out how it works in practice. But we will also address the controversies and criticisms that have been directed at the town and its inhabitants and try to understand why many see Orania as a symbol of racism and segregation.
This is a report that I believe will be both interesting and controversial, and I look forward to sharing it with you. So make sure to subscribe to my Substack page and don't miss this report!
Thank you for supporting my work, let's continue to fight for freedom of speech together.
Best regards,
Jonas Nilsson
